My boards are all custom ordered to ensure the customer gets the right board for them

Boards built utilising years of composite boatbuilding experience together with a background in traditional surfboard building.

I have unparalleled access to the compsand design and build co-operative

The Pure ethos is to build boards that not only perform at all levels in the water, but leave the minimum impact on the environment. I achieve this in a number of ways;

· Low density eps core, recyclable and low voc in manufacturing stage

· balsa from managed forestry wherever possible

· Epoxy resin, highest strength lowest voc

· Waterbased matt finish coat as standard ( most variations of gloss do have a voc debt)

Under 'normal' surfing usage, boards will last many years longer than a conventionally built board of a similar weight.

Technology

Full composite sandwich (compsand) skin of either balsa, corecell foam, bamboo (or wood) veneer or a combination of these materials.

This transfers the strength from the core to the skin where it has the most benefit.

Low density eps core, allows board to flex actively and in combination with the compsand skin helps prevent impact damage

full length balsa perimeter stringer (not just a veneer or 2mm cosmetic strip)

helps with tuning flex and maintaining a waterproof barrier to the core.

Also eliminates twist associated with center stringer boards, which enhances speed and projection.

Outer layers are epoxy resin- glassfibre matrix. Standard board construction is 2 x 4oz on the deck and 1 x 4oz on the bottom with Resin Research epoxy resin.

Tuneable flex characteristics enhancing 'pop' 'spring' 'flex return'
